Cultural Respect & Responsible Giving Statement

At EyeSeeMe Foundation, our sponsored book fairs are rooted in dignity, partnership, and community care. We ask all sponsors and supporters to honor the following principles:

Respect School Privacy

  • Please do not publicly name or tag specific schools receiving a sponsored book fair unless you have explicit permission from the school.

  • Schools reserve the right to remain unnamed or unpublicized.

  • No photos or videos from identifying students or the school name may be shared without prior approval from the school.

Community-Centered Giving

  • These book fairs are a collaboration, not a spotlight on giving.

  • We encourage sharing your support within your own community or network (e.g., “Proud to support a local school book fair through EyeSeeMe Foundation”) rather than centering individual schools or students.

Dignity Over Display

  • Our work is not about “saving” communities; it’s about supporting, resourcing, and standing alongside them.

  • Please avoid language or imagery that frames students, families, or schools as needy, rescued, or dependent.

  • We believe in asset-based storytelling that honors the strength and joy of the communities served.

With Gratitude

  • We are deeply thankful for your generosity and partnership.

  • Your care, discretion, and cultural sensitivity help ensure that this work remains respectful, affirming, and impactful for everyone involved.

Thank you for supporting literacy with intention and heart.

Fundraising FAQs

  • You can use platforms like GoFundMe, GiveButter, PayPal, or even on social media platforms like Facebook or Instagram. Choose the platform that works best for your network and goals.

  • You can use simple design tools like Canva or Picsart to customize templates. Make sure your flyer include impact information, donation links, and QR codes.

  • Absolutely! Read-a-thons, trivia nights, bake sales, or small community gatherings are all great ways to supplement online fundraising. Make sure to include a clear donation link or QR code for participants.

  • It’s up to you! You can run a fundrasier for 1 week or 1 month if you want. Set a clear end date to encourage people to give sooner, and remind your network as the deadline approaches.

  • Any amount raised still contributes to a sponsorship. You can combine your funds with another sponsor or continue fundraising over time. Every dollar helps bring diverse stories to more students. Feel free to reach out to us for tips on how your funds can still make an impact.

  • EyeSeeMe Foundation can provide donation receipts for tax purposes. r Contact our team for documentation.
